Test Match Raffle Rules

A test match is fully subscribed when all 121 available tickets are purchased at $20 each.ย ย Once a test match is fully subscribed, a random draw will take place to allocate a ticket number for each of the tickets sold (numbered 1 to 121) and published on this website ย Only one test match is open for purchase at any time.

Each ticket number represents a unique player combination consisting of one player from each side.

Australia and South Africaย players will be listed in alphabetical order of surname.ย  They become playersย A1 toย A11 andย S1 toย S11

Ticket number and player combinations are linked as follows;

Ticket # Aust Player South Africa Player Drawn By
1 A1 S1
2 A1 S2
3 A1 S3
4 A1 S4
.
.
9 A1 S9
10 A1 S10
11 A1 S11
12 A2 S1
13 A2 S2
14 A2 S3
.
.
119 A11 S9
120 A11 S10
121 A11 S11

whereย A1 andย S1 will be the first alphabetically listed player in each team, andย A11 and S11 will be the last alphabetically listed player in each team.

A list of subscribers and the ticket numbers they have drawn will be published on this website.ย  Likely player lists will be published in alphabetical order on the website prior to the start of the test.ย  If a player is listed, but does not play, the player playing that is not listed will fill the vacant spot.

If more than one listed player in a team is not selected, replacement players will be allocated in alphabetical order to the vacant spots. THE WHOLE LIST IS NOT REARRANGED.

Players playing in the test match accumulate points based on performance in the match. These are as follows;

1 point per run,

20 points per wicket,

20 points per catch,

20 points per stumping,

40 points for a caught and bowled,

0 points (nothing) for a runout, and

0 points (nothing) for a sub fielder.

However, any points accumulated by a player who has replaced another player in the match (e.g. Smith/Labuschagne at Lords 2019), will be allocated to the player who was replaced.

All test matches must have at least three players on each team accumulate points to constitute a result for this competition.ย ย If a match is abandoned without a ball being bowled, all tickets will be rolled over to the next available test match that Australia is playing.ย  If this cannot occur, all subscribers will be refunded the cost of their ticket.

No combinations contain two players from the same team.

The best performed combination wins first prize of $600.ย ย Second prize is $300, and third prize is $150.

A list of subscribers and the players they have drawn will be published on this website as soon as the test match is fully subscribed, or on the morning of the test commencing.

The club will contact all winners to arrange the disbursement of prize money within 48 hours after the conclusion of the test match.

First prize of $600 goes to the participant holding the ticket number correlating to the highest points scorer from each team.ย ย If more than one player from either team accumulates the equal highest number of points, First and second prize money will be added and shared between the two ticket holders.

Each test match is an individual raffle with a separate draw for each match and therefore constitutes a minor lottery promotion for which a licence is not required.

If a test match is not fully subscribed, but over half (61) tickets are sold, the club becomes the subscriber for the unsold tickets, as all tickets are “in playโ€ and therefore must have an owner.

If less than half of the 121 available tickets are purchased (60), the raffle will be aborted for that test and rolled over to the next scheduled competition, or refunded to the purchaser if there is no scheduled further competition.

All decisions made by the convener are final.
